Put your eyes towards television world for a few minutes and escape with me to catch up on the latest and greatest TV news. Today’s TV-Cap has word about Marvel’s new The Inhumans series, renewal for Westworld, a showrunner (finally) for Y: The Last Man, and more.
Medusa! It’s official: Marvel’s The Inhumans will be a TV series. ABC has ordered the show in partnership with IMAX. The first two episodes will arrive to IMAX theaters September 2017, and then ABC will debut the drama later in the fall. (ABC’s episodes will have original content not included in the IMAX premiere.) Neat and different, right? Additionally, the series will be filmed with IMAX cameras. The show will feature classic characters from the comic books and focus on Black Bolt and his family, like Medusa. So, no, it is not a spinoff of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. [Variety]

Which World? In news that won’t surprise you, HBO has renewed Westworld for season two. They shared the mysterious clip above with the reveal. Do you think they’ll stay in Westworld next season, or will the theme of the park change?
Detective-ish. Remember how Syfy is making Happy!? It’s an adaptation of the graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson. Anyway, they’ve cast Nick Sax. Chris Meloni will take on the role of the former detective who is now a hired killer. [CBR]
Finally! We learned Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s Y: The Last Man was coming to television over a year ago (forever ago, basically), but they’ve finally scored a showrunner. The Hollywood Reporter says Michael Green has been brought aboard to run point on the adaptation. FX still has things in development, so let’s hope they officially place an order for episodes soon. Still on the Table. Game of Thrones is so popular that it’s no wonder HBO wants more, more, more. The idea of a prequel is still a viable possibility. HBO programming president Casey Bloys told Entertainment Weekly (EW) he’s working on it. He said, “I would say it’s [the prequel] still kind of preliminary ongoing talks. There are areas we are exploring, but I wouldn’t point to any one and say, ‘This is what we’re going to do.'” Read more at EW.
Returning to Stars Hollow. Kelly Bishop is thankfully part of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. She sort of has to be. What would Gilmore Girls be without Emily Gilmore? In the above interview with Kristy, Bishop discusses reprising her role. [Nerdist]
High Hopes. Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger isn’t going to show up on Freeform until 2018, but that’s okay. While you’re waiting, head this way and read about seven things we want to see in the live-action series.
