The HARRY POTTER Theme Gets All Jazzed Up By Postmodern Jukebox

What do you get when you have musical wizards combine the iconic theme song from Harry Potter with the 1920s setting of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? You get a magical sounding jazz cover conjured up by the folks at Postmodern Jukebox.

The latest from our favorite old-timey musicians takes John Williams‘ memorable theme song that’s found throughout the Harry Potter movie franchise and literally jazzes it up with a trumpet, bass, and piano. The result is a smooth, super fun cover that sounds like something Newt Scamander would have heard when he visited The Blind Pig speakeasy.

Now we can already hear some of you screaming, “This isn’t called the Harry Potter theme! This is “Hedwig’s Theme.” Yes, you’re right, technically this is “Hedwig’s Theme,” but it’s the defacto theme song for the entire series, as it was used throughout all eight movies. When you think “Harry Potter score” this is what you think of.

If you want to compare Postmodern Jukebox’s version to the original from the official soundtrack you can listen to that version right here.

Would it be too much to ask Warner Bros. Studios to consider using this version of the song in the Fantastic Beasts sequels? With Newt and friends running around America during the age of jazz, even a Muggle–or in this case No-Maj–can see it would be pure magic to include it.

What other track from the wizarding world of Harry Potter would you like to hear the Postmodern Jukebox crew tackle next? Tell us your best suggestion in the comments section below.
