The New HANDMAID’S TALE Teaser and Key Art are Literally Lit

First, Offred was complacent, then Offred got angry, and now the central focus of The Handmaid’s Tale is ready to burn it all to the ground in the new teaser for the second season of Hulu’s award-winning (and seriously incredible) series based on the Margaret Atwood novel of the same name. And, truly, what better day than International Women’s Day to celebrate Offred’s takedown of the dystopian patriarchy running her futureAmerica?

It only gives us about 20 seconds of new footage, but the images held within it are evocative. First, there are the fists. Then the burning red dress as Offred tells us how to behave. But it’s clearly all a show: stay in your lane only long enough to dismantle the hardline of Gilead from the inside. If Handmaid’s Tale is about to get more thrilling and action-y, we’re all for it. In our eyes, this show can do no wrong.

But don’t just listen to us, watch the ding dang clip yourself:

Following the events of season one, The Handmaid’s Tale 13-episode second season will reportedly be shaped by Offred’s fight for her life, her child, and her pregnancy as she tries to break freak of Gilead and its hold on America when it returns with a two-hour premiere on April 25 (before new episodes air every Wednesdays). Based on what we’ve seen thus far, it’s going to be literally and figuratively lit.

After all, there’s no mincing the fire to come in the key art:
