The GHOSTBUSTERS Talk Ghouls, Gags, and Girl Power

Today an all-new Ghostbusters adventure hits theaters, adding a new team to the comedy franchise. Bridesmaids and Spy director Paul Feig has re-teamed with Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Wiig and is joined by Saturday Night Live breakout stars Leslie Jones and Emmy nominee Kate McKinnon as the gals strap on their Proton Packs and bust some serious ghosts. And, good news: the super fun and very enjoyable movie will not, we repeat, will not ruin your childhood!

The team of actresses assembled clearly had a great time making the movie, and Ghostbusters ’16 is filled with nods to the original films, cameos from original cast members and comedy stars, and some great scares, if I do say so myself… In fact, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones filled us in on just how scary the ghosts were, sharing a couple of behind-the-scenes stories about the actors in full makeup giving the entire cast a big scare during one scene in particular.

We sat down with Feig and three of the four Ghostbusters (Kristin Wiig was unfortunately under the weather the day of our interviews) to share details from the shoot, discuss Chris Hemsworth’s handsome face and comedy chops, and how the team brought a new batch of heroes to the big screen. Also, I confirmed my suspicion that I need to be best friends with Leslie Jones… but that’s a different story.

Ghostbusters is in theaters now.
