THE FORCE AWAKENS Cast Shares Their First STAR WARS Memory

We all remember our first Star Wars memory. For some, it’s standing in line with our sci-fi obsessed parents for A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, or Return of the Jedi. For others, it’s watching the original trilogy on VHS in our darkened bedrooms, playing with iconic action figures and toys, or even for the younger fans out there, being introduced to the universe through the prequels. (Don’t blame them — they were born too late, they couldn’t help it!) And even if you don’t remember when you first met Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewie, C-3PO, and R2-D2, if you were born after 1975, you can’t deny that the characters and adventures somehow seeped into your consciousness, perhaps through osmosis (or at least very excellent marketing).

As we kick off our unofficial Star Wars week leading up to the release of The Force Awakens (yes, we still kind of can’t believe this is ACTUALLY happening), we thought it’d be fun to hear the cast’s earliest Star Wars memories. Nerdist Senior Editor Dan Casey spoke with Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, and director J.J. Abrams to find out when Star Wars first touched their lives.

Stay tuned for more of our Star Wars: The Force Awakens coverage all week long, make sure you pick up Dan Casey’s new book, 100 Things Star Wars Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die, and let us know what YOUR first Star Wars memory is on Twitter using #NerdistAwakens!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (finally) hits theaters Friday, December 18, 2015.
