DC TV Shows Crossover Images, New WALKING DEAD Preview, and More TV news

We survived the week, and now it’s time to embrace the weekend with a “Temba, his arms wide” fashion. Before that though, let’s review some television news. Today’s TV-Cap has happy pictures from the upcoming DC Berlanti-verse crossover on The CW, a new preview for The Walking Dead, casting updates for season three of Outlander, and more.

Joyful Times. DC’s going whole hog in the crossover department this year and bringing us episodes involving all their Berlanti-verse shows: Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. Delightful. The new Entertainment Weekly (EW) is focusing on the event, with a cover featuring Oliver, Barry, and Kara. Aww. The above tweet teases some of the delightful images in the magazine and on EW’s website. See more pictures here. [Nerdist]

More to Come. Legends of Tomorrow update time! First of all, TVLine reports The CW has granted the series four more episodes in season two, for a total of 17 episodes. Secondly, Sydney had a chat with the cast and folks behind the scenes on the set recently, and she got some teases about the future (of the show, not our future). Read their comments here.

History. Game of Thrones season six will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, and that means new, juicy extras. One is a history piece about the war between the Children of the Forest and the First Men. It’s fueling speculation, and Mikey has the clip and all sorts of thoughts here at Nerdist.

It’s Time. Negan’s going to Alexandria in The Walking Dead, and of course, he’s brought Lucille. A new preview shows a glimpse of what happens when he arrives in the next episode of the series. Watch it here at Nerdist.

Trailers and Dates. Syfy dropped some pleasant news into the laps of fans of The Magicians and The Expanse on Thursday. They released trailers for the second seasons of both series (see above) and announced premiere dates. The Magicians returns on January 25, while The Expanse comes back on February 8. [Nerdist]

Sisters! Season three of Outlander has found actresses to portray the Dunsany sisters. Geneva and Isobel will be portrayed by Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds, respectively.

Possibilities. Fans have been reacting positively to the arrival of Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Actor Gabriel Luna told ComicBook.com that there have already been talks about the character’s future and that plans are in place to allow him to claim other territory in the Marvel Cinematic Universe–like his own TV series. This is the wrap gift t-shirt I gave to all the @supergirlcw cast and crew members who made my episode. Now having worked on both #Supergirl and @cwtheflash, I can equate the experience to making both a sfx extravaganza AND an indie flick at the same time: you have the talent and tools of a big budget movie but the time of a low budget flick. Most of the folks who work on these shows COME from feature films and do work you'd normally see in feature films – but do it in only 8 days. So it feels natural to celebrate the end of our journey the same way we wrap movies: with a free, commemorative t-shirt! Drawn by the always amazing @jeffquigley, we crib the most iconic Supergirl image in comics history: #superman holding his fallen cousin on the cover of #crisisoninfiniteearths. But standing in for the #manofsteel is the Man of Shhhh himself, #silentbob. Hopefully, this image isn't a prognosticator of my episode somehow killing the show I love. If there's any bad about #supergirllives, it's entirely mine: because the cast and crew made a fantastic episode. I know this not only because I was there watching when they did it, but also because I've already peeped some of the scenes our editor Barbara cut together. This thank you t-shirt is the least I can do for the folks who made me look like I might be good at my job. #KevinSmith #supergirlseason2 #jeffquigley #vancouver

Celebratory Tee. Kevin Smith is back at the helm of a DC Comics TV episode, this time for Supergirl. In fact, he recently wrapped on the episode and he gave the cast and crew a specially commissioned t-shirt. It’s all explained in the caption. [CBR]

How excited are you about the crossover? Tell me in the comments.
