Is Central City About to Turn on THE FLASH? (Exclusive)

Not everyone in Central City is a fan of the Scarlet Speedster on The Flash, and we’re about to meet one of Barry’s (Grant Gustin) biggest critics.

Tonight’s epic conclusion to the Earth-2 storyline—”Escape From Earth-2″—introduces Iris’s (Candice Patton) new boss at Central City Picture News, and Nerdist has your exclusive first look at their first rocky meeting.

Scott (Tone Bell), her editor at the paper, is less than enthused about writing a positive “fluff piece to try to make people feel good” about the Flash—especially since he’s been missing in action for the past few days. Of course, Iris knows that Barry has been trying to stop Zoom over on Earth-2, but it’s not like she can give up that information to just any civilian.

So when Scott tries to tell Iris to write the “truth” about how the Flash might not always be there to save them, Iris tries to come to Barry’s defense in an unbiased way. But when that doesn’t convince Scott to give up on his exposé idea, Iris is forced to make a desperate offer: she’ll try to get an exclusive with the metahuman who already fought the Geomancer, aka Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). Scott isn’t feeling that idea either, but he’ll give her a few days to turn something in before going back to his original idea: writing a story on how the Flash might not be the hero Central City thinks he is.

Is Scott about to turn the city against the Flash, even after everything he’s done to save the city and the people inside it?

“[Scott is] not a big fan of the Flash and she is,” Patton told Nerdist. “He’s really pushing her to write an article on how the Flash might not be the hero that everyone thinks he is, which is really difficult for Iris. She comes up with an idea to write an article about the other Flash instead, Jay, who is trying to stop the Geomancer.”
