The Flaming Lips Made A Companion Piece To Pink Floyd’s DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. April Fool’s?

Whoa. Seriously? Hard to say, but… maybe. In what appears to be an elaborate April Fool’s prank coordinated with Funny Or Die this past weekend, Wayne Coyne and and the rest of the Flaming Lips crew shared Flaming Side of the Moon, an ambient piece that supposedly complements Pink Floyd’s 1973 LP, Dark Side of the Moon.

Jokes notwithstanding, this isn’t the first time the Lips have flirted with a Pink Floyd fascination. In 2009 they joined forces with Henry Rollins, Stardeath and White Dwarfs, and Peaches to record their own version of Dark Side of the Moon. So maybe everybody got Punk’d, but we still have 43 minutes of new music, and that is seriously awesome.
