Hugh Jackman‘s time as Wolverine is almost up, and his unmatched, nine film, 17 year run as Marvel’s most popular mutant hero will come to an end in Logan. With the film’s release date coming up fast, 20th Century Fox has released the final trailer for Logan, and in this one, X-23 has a lot of screentime!
While the comic book incarnation of X-23/Laura Kinney is Wolverine’s clone and surrogate daughter, it’s not entire clear what Laura’s origin will be in the movie. But judging from Dafne Keen’s performance in these clips, it’s safe to say that this Laura also has quite a wild streak in her. She may or may not be Logan’s clone, but she definitely takes after him. At this point in his life, Logan may actually be less dangerous than the young girl under his protection!
The trailer also gets a little meta as an X-Men comic appears, and we also get a few looks at the security team hunting down Logan and Laura. One of their few allies is Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), who isn’t quite the man that he used to be. One of the film’s lingering questions also remains unanswered: what happened to all of the mutants? This may be the future, but it looks like things only got worse after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Logan will pop its claws into theaters on Friday, March 3.
