THE DIVISION Already Having Griefing Problem, Here’s How to ‘Get Around’ It

With The Division finally hitting shelves today, we knew it was only a matter of time before online shenanigans kicked into high gear. While there have already been several reports of Ubisoft’s seriously overcrowded servers, there’s a problem of another sort that’s been plaguing players online: trolls. Depending on your multiplayer etiquette, you’re either going to laugh or throw up your hands in frustration when you hear what players have been doing.

According to a report on Eurogamer, an annoying batch of folks have discovered that it’s possible to grief other players by simply standing in a doorway. As you’ll see in the video at the top of the page, players are getting stuck in one of the rooms when another blocks the exit. The bad news is, it’s the very first safehouse encountered in the game, and players spawn here following a particular cutscene where they’re introduced to the character Faye Lau.

While we’re all waiting for Ubisoft to address the issue, Reddit users have suggested a workaround for the taxing issue. Apparently, instead of trying to squeeze past them, all you need to do is continuously run against the player; don’t back up and try again, because it won’t work. After a few seconds of running, the game will phase you through the troll.

Despite having an easy workaround, we’re hoping the developer finds a fix, and fast. As we’ve already noted, the game is facing serious server issues. It doesn’t need another reason to deter people from playing or trying it out.

Have you encountered this problem, or are there any other you’ve come across? Let us know in the comments below!
