Welcome to The Dan Cave! Is that your real hair? Doesn’t matter because it’s really working for you!
There may still be 204 days and counting until Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015, but that hasn’t stopped the hype train from barreling past it and hurtling towards Avengers 3, Phase IV, and beyond with rampant speculation. Recently, rumors were swirling that Avengers 3 would be split into two parts. We broke down what that could look like on Nerdist News, but the problem is that it isn’t going to happen. In fact, it can’t from a legal standpoint thanks to Marvel’s multi-picture contracts to which all of the Avengers actors are currently signed. However, that doesn’t mean that the House of Ideas isn’t pulling a fast one with Avengers 3. So, on today’s episode of The Dan Cave, I’m sifting through the rumors and breaking down what this could mean for Avengers 3 and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (HINT: It involves the West Coast Avengers.)
What would you like to see happen in Avengers 3? Would more spin-offs and more franchises beneficial to the brand or will it dilute the market too much? Let me know in the comments below or tell me on Twitter (@osteoferocious) using the hashtag #TheDanCave.
Special thanks to all who entered last week’s NYCC giveaway! We have a winner (to find out who, you’ll have to watch the video), but honestly, I feel like I won thanks to the cavalcade of awesome westerns you’ve given me to watch.

I’m seeing more and more evidence of a Civil War cinematic adaptation happening. With Cap becoming more and more cautious of the government, Tony Stark going through this life crisis in Iron Man 3, and these continuous rumors of Spider-Man (a HUGE player in the Civil War arc) being lent to Marvel… I’m almost convinced its going to happen in tandem with Thanos getting all the Infinity Gems and wreaking havoc. Or Marvel will spin an all new story arc never seen before, who knows? Either way, I’m pumped!
So Originial Sin Spoiler Alert? lol that comic only ended like a couple weeks ago.
I do like the idea of branching off into other story lines, but perhaps the big screen isn’t the best place for it.
Honestly, I can’t speculate where they might go. Mostly because while Iron Man and the Marvel Universe is something that I like, I know very little about all the information about it.
Business stand point they are landing money hand over fist for these movies so why stop something that is paying out? I am sure that we are going to see many more Stan Lee “Cameos” in the future.
I would like to see the Howling Commandos though. Not the Captain America one, but the comic one.
I would love to see a Howling Commandos film. Those were some of my favorite comics to read when I was growing up. We got a little taste of them in Captain America: The First Avenger.
