Welcome back to The Dan Cave! Did you get a haircut? Because your hair looks great. But enough about you; we’re here today to talk about movies! Considering how uncomfortably warm this summer has been, it’s lucky that we’ve had a veritable cornucopia of cinematic delights like Guardians of the Galaxy, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Snowpiercer, and Edge of Tomorrow, just to name a few. While the summer hasn’t been without its share of big budget disappointments, we’re thankfully leaving the realm of loud, explosion-filled popcorn flicks behind for the realm of awards season prestige cinema. Yet with so many movies coming your way this fall, how can you decide how to spend your hard-earned cash at the box office? Never fear because today on The Dan Cave, we’ll be running down a list of the 5 films coming out this fall that you most definitely need to see.
What films are you most looking forward to this fall? Let me know in the comments below or whisper it to me gently on Twitter using the hashtag #TheDanCave.

Woah, who’s that handsome lad?
A few of those on that list, but I’m also looking forward to The Theory of Everything, which looks to possibly one of the best of the year if the romance aspect is played right alongside the drama that matters most – making it as good as Hitchcock should have been, and Into the Woods which usually I wouldn’t be excited for because I haven’t even looked at who the director is or who adapted it, but with Stephen Sondheim’s apparent high approval of the film I really trust it to possibly be as good as the last big Sondheim adaption, 2007’s Sweeney Todd.
I’m looking forward to The Imitation Game and I just added your list to my list. 🙂
All of the above. Strong work, spot-on and thank you… all of the above. (but honestly, Interstellar, c’mon)
C’mon is right. Thanks for watching!
I am interested in every movie on your list, but I’d also include Birdman as one I’m very curious about. A few others would be A Walk Among the Tombstones, The Theory of Everything and The Imitation Game.
Birdman just opened to raves at Venice, so I’m even more stoked to see it now. Those others are also high on my list.
Dunno. I haven’t been to a movie theater since “Gandhi.”
Skeleton twins
Good call, Samantha. Looking forward to seeing that too.
Excellent diction, sir. You’re fast and yet perfectly clear. For the record, I exhale popcorn – salty. (I’m in the UK. You have to differentiate. Honestly.)
Thanks for the kind words, Henrik! Wait – what are the other popcorn options in the UK?
Looking forward to GONE GIRL and INTERSTELLAR.
You and me both, Adam.
I actually did get a hair cut…WITCHCRAFT!!! WHERE ARE YOU HIDING?!
Who do you think cut your hair?
