The Best Worst Movie Sequels That Were Never Made

Everyone loves a good sequel. Sure, we may moan and groan about the death of original ideas in Hollywood or the sometimes baffling continuation of certain cinematic sagas, but it’s not all bad. Without Empire Strikes Back, we’d never have Lando Calrissian. Without Breakin’ 2, we’d never have the phrase “Electric Boogaloo” (or Vin Diesel dancing). Without The Matrix: Reloaded, we’d never have The Matrix: Revolutions! Okay, well, maybe we could have done without that. However, on the flip side of that coin, there is the weird, wild world of ambitious film sequels that were simply never produced.

These were the films designed to cash in on the success of the original that proved simply to strange, too stupid, or too insane to make. From a third Joel Schumacher Batman movie to a time-traveling Gladiator sequel and beyond, today’s episode of The Dan Cave is a celebration of the best worst movie sequels that were never made.

Which of these nonexistent movie sequels would you want to see most? Which did I leave off the list that you wish had been included? Let me know in the comments below.
