If Arrested Development can be revived from its cancellation at Fox, can’t other comedy series with fanatical cult followings also be brought back? HBO is now answering yes to that question, reviving The Comeback, which lasted only a season at HBO in 2005. Almost ten years later, the series, created by Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow, has an order for six episodes this fall.
The Comeback stars Kudrow as a TV star, Valerie Cherish, struggling to stay in the limelight, and was regarded by an incredibly passionate fan base as cancelled way too early after a single 13-episode season.
Perhaps this trend will continue and Party Down can make its own comeback.
