With all the stuff going on here regarding Course of the Force and Comic-Con preparations, The Collection, our irregular sampling of stuff going on that we didn’t have any place else to put, has been patiently waiting in the background. Let’s shake out a few items while we have a few seconds, okay?
First, you may have seen Andy Murray win Wimbledon, but you didn’t see it in LEGOs… until now:
This is cool: cross Pinterest with online Flash games and you get Pong.com, which is an interesting way for you to collect and find and play flash games. The idea is just like Pinterest — you see a game online, you “pong” it to your Pong.com page, you categorize them, and you follow others (and get followed) to see what else is out there. Developers and publishers can pong their own games (and embed their own video ads and keep all the revenue). Ultimately, it’ll be ad-supported, but try it out and see if your favorite vintage games are there. Yes, including the original Pong. (Nolan Bushnell is saying good things about this Pong, by the way, for what it’s worth….) (HT: TheNextWeb.com)
And Machinima ETC has the official trailer for Syfy’s upcoming TV movie Sharknado, which is exactly what you think it is:
Oh, that IS silly. It’s coming Thursday at 9e on SyFy. Of COURSE Tara Reid is in it.
Future shark movies:
1) Sharkopolypse – fins cut from mutant sharks regenerate as land sharks
2) Sharkbait – mermaid and shark mate and produce a pretty girl that consumes humans to remain in human form (starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah?)
3) NanoSharks – sharks are minified by a super villain scientist and placed in a reservoir used for drinking water. When ingested the victims get chewed from the inside.
