“The Big Bang Theory” At PaleyFest

Last night at PaleyFest in Los Angeles, the cast and producers of The Big Bang Theory took the stage to talk about the show, spanking, “Call Me Maybe” flash mobs, “bazinga,” and more. Executive producers Bill Prady, Chuck Lorre, and Steven Molaro joined the cast — Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg, Melissa Rauch, and Mayim Bialik — for the evening, moderated by Pauley Perrette of NCIS.

And you can see it here (in the U.S., at least…), thanks to the folks at Hulu doing their best to make their code work on our site (and that wasn’t easy).

Not much to hate about the show. It’s consistently well-written and funny. Is it the most accurate depiction of nerd culture? Of course not. Sitcoms are successful when the writing is good and the characters are entertaining, not because they are accurate depictions of life.

I will say watching this panel, makes me appreciate what a great job Chris Hardwick does as a moderator. He is nowhere as cute as Pauley Perrette but a hundred times better as an onstage host.

I consider myself to be pretty nerdy for certain things. I never can understand the hate for Big Bang Theory. Having a girlfriend with an 11 y/o who watches this with me, makes him stop playing GTA 25
and want to be a scientist is a good thing for nerds everywhere.

The only problem I have with the show is they played “Star Wars: The Old Republic” (SW:ONLINE) instead of Star Trek Online for their weekender. That’s what me and my friends play on our weekends.lol

  4. Paul says:

@Richard: I might not agree with that exact usage of that term, but I 100% agree with the sentiment.

People who know how nerdy I am in real life are always puzzled why I don’t watch The Big Bang Theory. This is why.

  5. Richard Khan says:

    This show is nerd blackface.
