The “Batman: Arkham Origins” Trailer Packs a Punch

We gave you a taste on Friday of what to expect from Warner Bros. Games Montreal’s upcoming prequel game Batman: Arkham Origins, the third installment in the vaunted Arkham series of Batman games, but now we’re back with the first full trailer and it’s a sizzling 4 minutes and 53 seconds of non-stop Batman-on-Deathstroke action.

Plus there’s even a guest appearance by the game’s big baddie, the Black Mask, a character which may be awfully familiar to you comic book fans out there. According to the teaser at the end of the trailer, one of the pre-order bonuses will be the ability to play as Deathstroke. Here’s hoping that they include an optional first-person mode so you can get an idea of how messed up his depth perception really is.

Batman: Arkham Origins drops on October 25th, 2013. What do you think so far? Let us know in the comments below!

That’s an impressive CGI trailer and all, but we hardcore gamers rarely let those alone get us excited about a game anymore. Personally, I’m terrified that Rocksteady isn’t making this. I’ve never played more satisfying combat in any video game ever than I did in Arkham City. It made the challenge rooms so incredibly fun. I really, REALLY hope that WB Games doesn’t alter the combat even one iota… I’m all about innovation in iterative games, but you should never mess with perfection. Here’s to hoping the combat mechanics remain untouched.
