THE AVENGERS Have Come to Las Vegas, to Teach You Science

For all of the pirates, cowboys, knights and other things one can find in Vegas, it’s kind of amazing there are barely any superheroes, especially in this day and age. Well, that’s about to change, as one person is bringing some Marvel superheroes magic to the strip, with the new interactive Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network) exhibit, which just opened recently at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Thanks to the folks at Gizmodo, we’ve learned that the latest Marvel exhibit is the brainchild of one Nick Cooper of Victory Hill Exhibitions, a huge Marvel Comics fanboy who opened the first Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. in New York City back in 2014. This was then quicky followed up by similar exhibits in Korea and France. The newest Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibit is updated to include elements from the more recent Marvel films that have debuted since that first exhibit opened.

So what can you expect to find when entering Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.? For starters, you receive an orientation as a potential S.H.I.E.L.D. agent by actress Cobie Smulders, A.K.A. agent Maria Hill. Following that, you enter several rooms which focus on the underlying science of the core Avengers team–Captain America, The Hulk, The Vision, Thor, and Iron Man, and some of the others (I bet they skip the “underlying science” of the Scarlet Witch, since there isn’t any).

Nick Cooper partnered with real scientests to create this exhibit (like Ricardo Gil da Costa, CEO of Neuroverse, a company that is developing a wireless brain computer interface), as well as scientists and engineers from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. You can see a quick tease video of the exhibit above, and then ask yourself the $150,000 dollar question — why the heck isn’t this in any of the Disney theme parks? Since they kind of own the Avengers already??

What do you think of the latest Avengers exhibit? Enough to get you to hop on a plane to Vegas? Let us know what you think down below in the comments.
