If you’re a Spider-Man fan, they’ve gone and revealed the title of the Marc Webb-directed, Andrew Garfield-starring reboot/prequel-of-sorts:
The Amazing Spider-Man.
Just like the original comic.

I dunno…not 616 Clone Saga, for sure. But Ultimate Clone Saga was actually kinda interesting.
He definitely looks like Spidey 2099, and am I the only one who thinks the fingers look really, really close to the Scarlet Spider? It’s probably nothing, but I feel like most people would agree:
I really hope they don’t try to do the Clone Saga at some point.
Am I wrong in thinking that the suit looks like the House of M and Spidey 2099 had a spider-suit baby?
I cannot get over how much I dislike the new suit. I want my Spider-Man to look like a superhero, not like he is going to go biking.
Did you guys really hate the lack of mechanical web shooters that much? I hated ugly MJ, non-jock (sharp-toothed) Eddie Brock, bad CGI venom, and voice-cracking, pathetic Peter Parker WAY more than the lack of VERY hard to explain mechanical web-shooters.
I’ve also recently thought the new suit looked horrible, but it looks pretty cool in this picture. I always forget that these new-age super suits are meant to be shot a certain way. The prototypes and test shots always look pretty bad.
Spidey’s still owned by Sony, right? So no cross-over shenanigans? It’ll be nice when everything has been re-booted and is all under one umbrella, so Daredevil can visit Peter Parker, Peter can get some science help from Reed Richards, Wolverine can kick the shit out of Spider-man, Spider-man can kick the shit out of Wolverine, etc.
True that they have a LOT of work to do but thank god, it “seems” that they are heading in the right direction. That’s all I need to have hope. The costumes look good. They are showing signs of spidey lore (web shooters). And the cast is solid (DESPITE the fact that Donald Glover isn’t Spider-man). The waiting part is a hassle but I’m already waiting for Captain America so meh.
Am I the only one who hopes for an Andrew Garfield/Emma Stone musical number in the DVD extras for this one like there was in 500 Days of Summer?
Also, I’m immensely glad to see I’m not the only one who was disconcerted by the lack of mechanical web shooters in Raimi’s trilogy.
