Let’s all say “Ooo” together out loud: The Adventure Time spinoff, Stakes, finally has a premiere date. The 8-episode mini-series, which focuses on Marceline The Vampire Queen and all the events that led to her possessing magical powers (and hopefully that killer axe-shaped bass of hers), will premiere on November 18 on Cartoon Network, which is shortly after the latest season of Adventure Time premieres on November 2.

Attendees of New York Comic Con were treated to a sneak preview of of the first two episodes at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The show reportedly begins with an experiment to rid Marceline of her vampiric traits, when things go horribly awry. i09 has some very spoilery, gut-wrenching stills of the show if you can’t help yourself. Otherwise, you’ll just have to bide your time until November 14.

For those of you who do want to get in on all them sweet and juicy spoilers, here’s what allegedly went down in the first two episodes: apparently, Princess Bubblegum created a vampire cure that Marceline decides she wants to take. She’s over being a vampire and “grow up” to be a human. There are flashbacks, an ominous danger (thanks to the Vampire King), and a heck of a lot of character exploration.
