Patience has been rewarded for fans of The 100. While the wait for any information about the new season (or a new trailer!) has been long and extremely torturous, thankfully that wait just got a little bit shorter. The CW announced today that the sci-fi post-apocalyptic drama will return for the highly-anticipated season five on Tuesday, April 24 at 9 p.m. following The Flash. It will take the place of new DC Comics series Black Lightning, which airs its season one finale the week before on Tuesday, April 17 at 9 p.m.
But that’s not all that the network announced early Sunday morning at the 2018 Television Critics Association winter press tour. The CW also announced return dates for fan-favorite shows iZombie and the final season of The Originals, along with the series premiere date for Lucy Hale’s Life Sentence and a time slot move for Dynasty.
iZombie will return for season four on Monday, February 26 at 9 p.m. after Legends of Tomorrow. The Originals’ final season, described as “one final, bloody bow,” premieres Friday, April 20 at 9 p.m. It will take the place of Jane the Virgin which airs its season finale the week before on Friday, April 13 at 9 p.m. Plus, the network also announced in a surprise bit of casting news that Rosario Dawson will be featured in a multi-episode arc on Jane the Virgin in the back half of this season.
The CW’s new cancer drama Life Sentence makes its series debut with a premiere on Wednesday, March 7 at 9 p.m. following an all new episode of Riverdale. The freshman drama reboot Dynasty will now move to Friday nights at 8 p.m. beginning March 9.
