Listen All Y’all, Tesla Got (Allegedly) Sabotaged

If you’re Elon Musk and are struggling to get Tesla to turn a profit, one path that you certainly don’t want to take out of production hell is through corporate espionage. Late last week, Musk sent a letter to all Tesla employees alleging that a fellow employee had in fact hacked their Gibson, stole company data, and sent it to unknown third parties.

“I was dismayed to learn this weekend about a Tesla employee who had conducted quite extensive and damaging sabotage to our operations…” Musk wrote in the letter. Musk also insinuated that he wasn’t surprised by the revelation, pointing the finger at Wall Street investors who shorted Tesla’s stock and big oil companies that may not be thrilled at the idea of premium electric vehicles taking over the market. “As you know, there are a long list of organizations that want Tesla to die.”

Will Tesla have to face the reckoning of a self-proclaimed whistle-blower? Or will Musk shrug off this attempted espionage with the grace of a double O? We’ll be following the story closely, but not too closely. Never sneak up on a spy.

Also on today’s show: Dan and I break down Musk’s latest gimmick to up production of Model 3s; the Falcon Heavy is a fan of Dune; and… can chairs think and feel?
