Earlier this week, we showed you an action packed clip from the upcoming Lord & Miller directed sequel, 22 Jump Street. Starring returning actors Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, the last clip displayed how much the series had improved from a physical stand-point: bigger, better, all the good stuff. But of course what made the first movie shine wasnât the action, it was the humor shared between Jenko and Schmidt, and the big question going into the sequel is: does that humor remain? Based on todayâs latest clip release from Columbia Pictures and Yahoo! Movies, the answer is yes:
Itâs fascinating to watch Hill and Tatum play off one another. Of course we expect amazing improvisational skills from Hill, but from Tatum? It still blows our minds how funny the man can be, and how well he does as a character doing bad improv, which is a comedic skill all on its own. Even two years later, itâs still rather mind-blowing to think how great 21 Jump Street became, and now it appears we may have to be ready to have our minds blown again. How do you do a sequel to a reboot no one expected to be good? We donât know, but Lord & Miller (who, again, should just be running Hollywood at this point) sure as hell found a way.
22 Jump Street hits theaters June 13th.
