TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS EPISODE 2: ‘ATLAS MUGGED’ Gets a New Trailer

After a somewhat prolonged period of silence, the release window for the second episode of Telltale’s critically acclaimed Tales from the Borderlands was finally revealed. If you were lucky enough to attend PAX East this weekend and were able to make it to the developer’s panel, you got a sneak preview of the next episode. That’s great and all but what about the rest of us normal folks?

Lucky for us, Telltale Games has just released a trailer for the second episode for those of us who weren’t able to make the trek to Boston. If you’re champing at the bit like Butt Stallion at feeding time, don’t worry–the wait won’t be too bad. Though we have no concrete dates, we do know that it will release some time this month. Telltale has also teased that more details may be confirmed today. This sort of surprise release model has now become a trend for Telltale Games. Once they release a trailer it usually means the launch is a week or two away.

As you’ll see in the trailer above, it looks like more of what people loved from the first episode–including great art, captivating humor, and crazy “did that just happen?” moments–will be included. The second episode, titled “Atlas Mugged”, is set to continue the grand adventure of our heroes as the Gortys Project’s discovery kicks off a race to find out what the Atlas Corporation was up to before Hyperion took over Pandora. Fortunately for the thrillseeker in all of us, this has now become a race between our heroes, Vault Hunters, bounty hunters, and Vasquez. Just for good measure, a giant monster is thrown in there at the end too.

Telltale did an excellent job on the first episode and hopefully this trend continues throughout the remainder four episodes. The trailer looks great but there may be some put off by the giant monster at the end. The question is whether toilet humor fits in this world, that is up to you to decide. Given that they also coined the term “bonerfart”, something tells me that it fits in just fine.

Now that the wait for the next episode in the the series is a lot closer than you may have thought, how excited are you to finally continue the tale?
