Eraserhead

I’ve recently decided that few directors have the ability to truly terrify and trouble me the way David Lynch can. His mix of the odd and humorously sinister has made him a truly unique voice in filmmaking, and while none of his movies are overtly horror films, per se, almost all of them have more scares and create more nightmares than most of the stuff coming out these days. Eraserhead, Lynch’s first film, is maybe his most bizarre and most off-putting. Gah, I’m having stress dreams just thinking about it.
