Let’s Taco ‘Bout Taco Eye Makeup

Achieving the perfect winged liner is more difficult than YouTube makeup tutorials would lead you to believe. Instead of spending hour after hour trying to get your cat-eye just right, why not go for a look you can better identify with—a style that speaks to your soul—I’m talking about tacos.

We learned about taco eyelids thanks to Eater. They’re a recent trend in custom cosmetics and the results are stunning. Colorful flecks of cheese, lettuce, and even tiny tomatoes are all on display within the few inches of eyelid that provide the canvas.

These makeup masters use eyeshadow and eyeliner to create their exquisite works of art, one artist even going so far as to paint an homage to the patron saint of tacos, the Yo Quiero Taco Bell Chihuahua.

Some of these looks are so realistic they will make you hungry for lunch. Sitting across from someone with taco eyes in a meeting would be difficult, just staring absolutely hypnotized into beautiful, enchanting taco-filled pools.

What is the purpose of having taco eyelids, you might ask? Besides showing off your awesome taste, I suppose you could go into a restaurant and simply wink to place your order. You can let the makeup do the talking, but the guac is still extra.

These instagram #tacomakeup posts prove that tacos aren’t just a meal, they’re a way of life.
