The world we live in is a strange one, a dangerous one, but also can be a purely delightful one. For instance, we now live in a universe in which LEGO is able to make sets based on any number of famous and beloved properties. This means we can build a Doctor Who TARDIS or a Ghostbusters ECTO-1 and have it be officially licensed, not just someone being really creative on their own (which is thankfully still something that can happen, too). There’s something about having the DC Comics superheroes under the LEGO banner that makes a ton of sense to me, given their colorful characters, awesome vehicles, and general ability to inspire kids to creativity.
We also live in a world where you can watch hilarious adventures of your favorite DC characters in full movies as part of the Warner Bros/DC animation video library. For their latest outing, LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Cosmic Clash, the heroes have to stop the intergalactic threat of Brainiac and his robotic minions before they can destroy, oh, you know, everything.
The above clip features Cyborg (Khary Payton) searching frantically for heroes to help him, but with Green Arrow and Hawkman on other planets and Aquaman way down under the sea, he’s forced to call on Superman’s secret weapon… Supergirl (Jessica DiCicco), who is apparently still in high school and needs a permission slip signed.
LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Cosmic Clash will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, March 1, and comes with an exclusive Cosmic Boy minifig so you can create your own adventures at home. And you’ll want to, because with a movie as fun and upbeat as this, you (or your kids) can’t help but want to hero it up at home.
