To celebrate the premiere of Mortal Kombat Legacy II, Youtube creator Mika Dahlquist (a.k.a. Mike Diva) has concocted his own fight scene featuring two of MK’s most popular masked badasses. The video features Scorpion and Noob Saibot jousting in the iconic MK desert setting, lives up for grabs. There’s something about Dahlquist’s abstract style of directing that infuses rather favorably with Ed Boon’s gruesome universe.

Mr. Dahlquist is obviously a connoisseur of the Mortal Kombat series, choosing the original Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot, to battle it out with Scorpion as opposed to the going the cliché route and choosing recent versions of the younger Sub-Zero. Fans of the latest Mortal Kombat game will be pleased with the amount of fan service in the bit. You’ll witness everything from the characters’ popular special moves, an X-Ray special move and even a spot-on reenactment of a fatality. There’s also a comedic bit which I’ll hold off on detailing considering the spontaneity of it made it even funnier. Here’s to hoping that the next-gen version of Mortal Kombat looks this amazing.
