SUICIDE SQUAD Virtual Reality Experience Will Debut at Comic-Con

In just a few weeks, audiences will get a chance to know DC’s team of misfit villains in Suicide Squad. But if you’re going to Comic-Con next week, you’ll be able to experience the Suicide Squad in a brand new way.

Warner Bros. and Samsung have announced a joint partnership to unveil exclusive Suicide Squad content at Comic-Con powered by Oculus, which will allow fans to capture the feeling of being on Task Force X alongside Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Katana, and the rest of the team. The Belle Reve penitentiary that holds the group between missions has been recreated in VR; that includes Harley Quinn’s tattoo parlor, where fans can get inked up by Harley herself in this virtual space. Behind-the-scenes VR footage from the film will also be included in the experience.

Fans at Comic-Con will also get the chance to officially join the team, and shoot short videos as their personally created characters. Custom Suicide Squad T-shirts will also be given away, and Samsung is hinting that cast members from the movie will also drop by the experience. After Comic-Con is over, the Suicide Squad VR content will also be available on Samsung VR.

As part of the promotion, fans who buy a new Samsung Galaxy tablet at participating retailers between now and August 20 will get two free tickets to see Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad film opens nationwide on Friday, August 5.
