SUICIDE SQUAD: HELL TO PAY’s First Trailer Sets the Team Against an Immortal

Thanks to the success of 2016’s live-action Suicide Squad, the team of villains known as Task Force X is getting a second shot at headlining their own animated movie in Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. And unlike in their first go-’round, Batman: Assault on Arkham, the team won’t be sharing top billing with the Dark Knight this time. But this streamlined group of killers and crooks may soon wish that they had Bruce on their side. Via IGN, the first trailer for Hell to Pay has revealed that the squad is going up against the immortal Vandal Savage, and it may not even be possible to take him out.

Christian Slater is headlining the cast of Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay as the voice of Deadshot, while DC animation vet Tara Strong is once again handling the role of Harley Quinn. Rounding out the team are Kristin Bauer van Straten as Killer Frost, Billy Brown as Bronze Tiger, Liam McIntyre as Captain Boomerang, and Gideon Emery as Copperhead. Vanessa Williams is portraying Amanda Waller, the ruthless leader behind Task Force X… but according to Waller, this mission is completely off-the-books, which means that the team won’t be getting much in the way of support.

The trailer also offers a quick glimpse of Silver Banshee and Vandal Savage, but they’re far from the only villains awaiting Task Force X. So far, Zoom, Two-Face, Knockout, Vertigo, Professor Pyg, Blockbuster, and Tobias Whale have all been confirmed. The wild card in this story may be Dania Ramirez’s Scandal Savage, Vandal’s daughter and Deadshot’s partner in the Secret Six. She seems more likely to side with the squad than with her father.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital later this year, but an exact date has yet to be announced.
