STRANGER THINGS Season 2 Speculation, RICK AND MORTY Update, More TV News

It’s chilly here in Los Angeles, and I bet I’m not the only one wearing fingerless gloves and clutching warm beverages to keep cozy today. You know what else warms me up? A steaming cup of TV-Cap. Yep, I just typed that. Read on for some thoughts about what new Stranger Things details mean, to find out why the next season of Rick and Morty is delayed, to see a Gotham clip with Jerome and Bruce Wayne, and more.

Analyzing Upside Down. Season two of Stranger Things is in the works, and cast member David Harbour (Sheriff Hopper) dropped some details about what’s ahead during a recent appearance. And by details, I mean hints. Jessica Chobot goes over it all from top to upside down in the latest Nerdist News. Watch and share your speculation about season two in the comments. [Nerdist]

Tropical Locale. There’s no official word on this yet, but it’s being reported that Marvel’s Inhumans TV series will spend some time shooting in Hawaii. It sure seems like the islands would be a fitting place to stand in for Atillan. [Comic Book Movie]

Why Not. NBC has placed a pilot order for a What About Bob? reboot. The difference between the comedy series and the 1991 film? This one is What About Barb? and will star female versions of Bob and Leo. Films being rebooted as television series is the new black. [Deadline]

He’s Back. Gotham brought back Jerome, a.k.a. the character who sure seems like he’s going to become The Joker for the DC Comics series. A new three-minute video covers the introduction of the character and his return to the land of the living with his reattached face (eww), as well as a look ahead to the rest of season three, including a face-to-face match with Bruce Wayne. An Explanation. More Rick and Morty is happening, but it’s been a while since season two–since October 2015, to be exact. Why’s season three taking so long to hit the air? Series co-creator Dan Harmon talked to IndieWire about what’s happening. Essentially, it comes down to the series taking longer and longer to write. Harmon ended up taking to Twitter to explain his comments and you can read all about it here at Nerdist.

The Right Kind of Leader. Remember how Fox ordered a pilot for an untitled X-Men series from Matt Nix? It’s about mutants on the run, hiding to survive. Well, apparently none other than director Bryan Singer will direct the pilot. Get more details here at Nerdist.

A Brutal Competition. I admit reality competition series aren’t my thing, but I find appeal in shows that test physical limits. Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster looks like it will do just that, and it’s hosted by Sylvester Stallone. The series will premiere on February 24. [Vulture]

A Tribute. To celebrate the life of Mary Tyler Moore, SundanceTV will air a marathon of The Mary Tyler Moore Show on January 28. The all-day event will begin at 6:00a.m. ET.

One More Thing. We can’t say goodbye without talking recent recaps. Read our thoughts on The Magicians season two premiere and the Voltron: Legendary Defender season two finale.
