STRANGER THINGS’ Finn Wolfhard Cares for a Dog in PUP’s New Music Video

He’s a young guy, but Finn Wolfhard has already made a name for himself as a horror star, first with the breakout Netflix hit Stranger Things and soon with the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s It. He’s also quietly been making himself into something of a rock icon… perhaps not an icon, but definitely somebody who has a vested interest in rock music.

He occasionally hits up Twitter to post videos of himself covering tracks like Nirvana’s “Lithium,” and he’s also established as a music video star, appearing in the clip for Canadian punk band PUP’s 2014 video for “Guilt Trip” as a young version of frontman Stefan Babcock, who shoots a cop and disposes of the body. The band has continued the story of that clip with their new video for “Sleep In The Heat,” which deals with death in a less intense and more typical way.

This time around, Wolfhard finds himself sharing food with, bonding with, and falling in love with a dog, a very good boy. As tends to happen with pets, and honestly is probably part of the reason parents get them for their kids, the dog takes ill, and the poor boy has to learn how to deal with loss.

By the way, Wolfhard said that his occasional Twitter covers are hopefully the start of something more for him musically, telling Vulture, “I really want to record something and play live, get something out like an EP. I really see some sort of future in music because I love it so much.”

We need all the Stranger Things-derived music we can get, so please get to work on this, Wolfhard.
