Get Your First Look at Dark Horse’s Free STRANGER THINGS Comic Book (Exclusive)

With a video game, prequel novel, and comic book series on the way, fans of Stranger Things have a lot more to look forward to than the next season of the show. There is one major downside to all of these new ways to explore the Upside Down though–now we have more waiting to do, and when it comes to patience we’re about as calm as Joyce Byers looking for her son. Fortunately this week we’re getting a taste of our favorite D&D-loving, monster-filled ’80s nostalgia series, because Dark Horse Comics is releasing a free comic to support Stranger Things #1 this fall. And we have your exclusive first look at it right now.

Fans who stop by Dark Horse Comics’ booth (#2615) this week at San Diego Comic-Con will be able to nab a copy of their new Stranger Things ashcan, which they are releasing ahead of their upcoming comic series that will be “based on Will’s unseen journey during season one of hit Netflix show Stranger Things.” The series, written by Jody Houser (Faith, Orphan Black, Mother Panic) is set to hit stores September 26, and will explore young Will’s time in a “dimension of decay and destruction where he must use his wits and resolve to dodge the pursuit of the Demogorgon and escape the Upside Down.”

Don’t worry if you won’t be in attendance though, because they’ll also make it available on Dark Horse Digital for free. And if that makes you feel like you just rolled a natural 20, you also have advantage because we have pages 6-10 for you to read right now. They show Will coming to a horrifying realization about where he ended up after playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends.

Oh yeah, we kind of forgot that while we were biking around Hawkins meeting a powerful young girl with a fondness for frozen waffles poor Will was literally alone in a demon world.

And since we can’t wait to join him there, it’s a good thing we don’t have to.

There’s more information about Dark Horse Comics’ Stranger Things series below, and that’s also where you’ll find our comments section. We want to know what you think Will’s time in the Upside Down might look like, so share your thoughts with us.
