Modders Recreate STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON Music Video in GTA V

This is appropriate in so many ways, it makes my brain want to explode. Not only because Straight Outta Compton, the biopic for the legendary gangsta rap group known as N.W.A., is out today, but mainly because it’s Grand Theft Auto. Two of the series’ most popular games totally imitated the Compton gang culture. One of the characters in 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was damn near a carbon copy of Eazy-E. Remember Ryder?

Looks just like him, right? The only difference: Ryder was the f–kboy of all f–kboys. He was the president of F–kboy Nation. The captain of Team F–kboy. Seriously, screw that guy.

But I digress, because Grand Theft Auto V modders have taken it upon themselves to give N.W.A. (and Eazy-E) more proper representation by way of a music video, courtesy of the Rockstar Editor. Watch as Franklin is cloned and re-skinned multiple times in an effort to recreate the original video for “Straight Outta Compton”, the title track from the group’s debut album, within the Grand Theft Auto V engine. Just like the vintage music video, there’s lowriders, lots of walking, cop foot chases, and the N.W.A. classic white dunks.

The maker of this video, AnimalRobot, is known for mashing up rap music with everything from Sesame Street to Pee-wee’s Playhouse. We especially got a kick from this recent mashup of Rick and Morty with Eminem’s “Rap God”.

What did you think of this N.W.A. mashup? Hop into the comments with your thoughts below.
