You can never have too many boxes. Whether you need a place to store your gold pieces, the buttons and pins you’ve amassed at conventions, or extra LEGO parts, a box is the answer. And if you’re going to use them, they may as well look awesome, right? Right. Fine Line Leather Designs has that requirement more than covered with their cute and toothy monster boxes. Yes. Boxes that look like monsters.

These boxes look like they’re right out of a shop in Diagon Alley (Hagrid would probably adore them!), but they’re actually made in Pennsylvania by Mellie Z. The wood monster boxes come in various sizes, and each one is a little different. They’re covered in leather–sometimes hand-dyed or embellished with iridescent pigment–and have hand sculpted teeth. Unless you enchant them, the boxes will probably not try to bite you when you open them. Probably. But maybe you can teach them to chomp on thieves. To complete the creature look, the boxes have glass eyes.

Fine Line Leather Design is sold out of monster boxes at the moment, but they’ll be posting new listings on Facebook. Follow them there and at Etsy if you want to stay in the monster box loop–and why wouldn’t you? They also set up shop at renaissance faires and conventions around the east coast and make journals and pouches featuring monster faces. Monster all the things!
