We’ve been waiting with bated breath for Angie Tribeca for what feels like a billion years now (turns out it’s only been like, one and a half but STILL). The Steve and Nancy Carell-produced comedy starring Rashida Jonesâand a literal, veritable smorgasbord of funny folk you already loveâhas been en route to our screens for awhile but apparently there was a reason for the wait: TBS, since green-lighting the show to series, ordered an additional ten seasons of the thingâthe biggest order ever in the history of television. And it’s all starting on January 17.
Now, it should be noted that those seasons consist of a single, solitary episode each, but trust: you will get a full-force of season premiere/finale business packed into those thirty minutes. If anything they’re just cutting out the fluff.
In a wee bit o’ scoopage that we got our sweet, sweet paws on because TBS loves us, the series will introduce viewers to the 10-episode first season “with a massive, international multiplatform launch on Sunday, Jan. 17, giving subscribers the opportunity to binge on all 10 episodes of season 1 through a 25-hour on-air marathon (Sunday 9 p.m. â Monday 10 p.m. ET/PT).” (It should be noted that’s 5 consecutive showings of the first season for all of you math aficionados out there going “hey wait a second…”)
Following shortly thereafterâon Monday, January 25âthe network will air each new season weekly (Mondays at 9:30pm) for 10 more weeks. Naturally, we’re pretty pumped about it. I mean, have you seen the original trailer for this crazy thing?
