Steel Serpent Shows His Power in Final IRON FIST Season 2 Trailer

Sacha Dawan’s Davos may not be as hilarious an adversary for Danny Rand as David Wenham’s Harold Meacham–whose blank-slate resurrection in season 1 was on a par with Kyle MacLachlan’s “Dougie” in Twin Peaks–but he’s a whole lot deadlier. In the final trailer for Iron Fist season 2, which drops Sept. 7th, he appears to have completed the evolution into the comic-book arch-nemesis Steel Serpent, complete with his own glowing fist that is, of course, red.

The classic Iron Fist costume gets a lot of attention in the Netflix trailer also, though it’s not clear Danny will actually don it in the present day as opposed to just flashbacks. Rather, he appears to be going for a “street” version, with a hoodie and lower-face mask that look green and yellow under city lighting.

The martial arts look harder hitting as well–the fight choreography in season one came under some criticism, and it looks like the showrunners have listened. Especially with all the glowing fists and power moves, there’s a total Street Fighter vibe at work here. It’s good to see Misty Knight back as well; Davos, after all, is the guy who comes up with the “Daughters of the Dragon” name for her and Colleen. With Danny functioning as more of a street-level vigilante in what we’ve seen so far, it looks like he’ll be more Daredevil than Bruce Wayne, and will face the consequences of his having been a failed protector of his adopted city of K’un Lun.

Are you a fan of Iron Fist so far? If not, does this make you want to give it another shot? Let us know in comments.
