STAR WARS Version of Classic Board Game CLUE Is Here

Forget the days of “who killed Mr. Boddy? It was Colonel Mustard, with a candlestick!” The classic board game Clue (or Cluedo if you’re British) is about to get an Imperial upgrade, as Hasbro has officially announced that a Star Wars version of Clue is on its way. So you all might want to replace Mr. Boddy and Colonel Mustard with “who killed Greedo in the Cantina? It was Han Solo!” (by the way, Han used his blaster to commit the crime, and he definitely shot first). This latest variant of Clue joins the ranks of other versions based on beloved pop culture properties, like The Simpsons, Harry Potter, Scooby-Doo, Disney’s Haunted Mansion, and even sitcoms like The Office and The Big Bang Theory.

The new Star Wars Clue seems to be set sort of/kind of during the events of A New Hope. According to the official description of the game on the Hasbro site, “it’s a period of civil war, and players have managed to sneak onto the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the Death Star! Be the first player to find out which planet Darth Vader plans to destroy next, which room the Death Star plans are hidden in, and which vehicle is the correct escape vehicle. The cards revealing the correct planet, room, and vehicle are placed in the mission folder at the beginning of the game — no one sees what these are until the end. The player who correctly identifies what’s in the folder wins!”

The game includes six Star Wars character pawns, five-piece cardboard game board (bottom level, back wall, two supporting walls, top level), mission notepad, die, six vehicle tokens, six planet tokens, mission folder, twenty-one Clue cards (red deck), nineteen corridor cards (black deck), and game guide. You can play as Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, R2-D2, or C-3PO. (What? No Obi-Wan? Hardly seems fair). The ages 8 and up game is available for purchase now at the official Hasbro website.
