These STAR WARS Valentines are Perfect for Your Special Someone

Let’s be honest — the last time in your life that Valentine’s Day didn’t suck as a holiday was when you were a kid. As an adult, Valentine’s Day is a day of scrambling to get last minute reservations at a nice restaurant so you don’t look like a cheap-ass (if you’re in a relationship). If you’re not in a relationship and are single, it’s even worse because it’s basically a day designed to make you feel like a total loser. But when you were a kid it was totally different; Valentine’s Day meant free candy and cool little cards with your favorite pop culture characters on them, usually from that other kid in class you didn’t even think knew your name.

As a way of evoking those amazing Valentine’s Day cards from your childhood, artist Sam Wooley and the good folks over at io9 have created their own Star Wars: The Force Awakens Valentines, featuring all your favorite news characters from that galaxy far, far away. You’ve got the dreamy Poe Dameron, in a Valentine that is totally meant to excite all you Poe and Finn shippers out there (you know who you are). For those who were drawn to the sullen emo kid in class, there’s a Kylo Ren Valentine. And of course, our adorable leads, Rey and Finn, get cards of their own as well. Sadly, there was no Han and Leia Valentine, but I guess that one’s just too darn depressing.

As a special added bonus, they’ve thrown in a Valentine evoking that other super badass movie from last year, Mad Max: Fury Road. But if you were expecting a card showing Max and Furiosa, I’m afraid they went with something a wee bit more disturbing. You’ll just have to go through our gallery below and see all the images to know just what I’m talking about.

Are you planning  on giving someone a particularly nerdy valentine this year? Let us know in the comments!
