STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailers Reworked Into Anime-Style Opening

It hasn’t been the greatest month for Star Wars fans: Star Wars: Episode VIII is getting pushed back to December 2017, which means fans will have to wait an additional seven months for the next installment of the sequel trilogy.

While we may not catch up with the adventures of Ray, Poe, and Finn until sometime in late 2017, an enterprising Star Wars fan has put a new spin on The Force Awakens now by re-cutting the footage from the various trailers into an anime-style opening sequence, complete with credits!

The song used in the video is called “Colors,” performed by Flow, which is also used as the opening theme for the anime series Code Geass. It’s definitely a high energy song that seems perfectly suited for this video. The amazing thing is how little needed to be changed to make The Force Awakens fit the style. The visuals that were plucked from the trailers feel like they could have easily been used if there really was a Star Wars anime series.

If the history of the franchise is any indication, The Force Awakens era will eventually be used as the setting for a Star Wars animated series. And while Lucasfilm tends to prefer using CGI animation in its television shows, this fan-made video has us interested in seeing a real Star Wars anime…someday.

What did you think of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens as an anime opening video? Embrace the Force and share your thoughts below!
