STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS LEGOS Are Blowing Up!

Really fantastic special effects can make or break a movie, right? Thanks to the fine folks at Glorious Eye Candy—a YouTube channel that has some fun with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and their LEGO sets in recent days—you can have an up close and personal look at how blowing up LEGOs might look, and with a killer soundtrack to boot. Check it out in the video above.

The soundtrack and sound effects added to the explosive short video, I have to say, really does give the video that extra umph you didn’t know you were missing. The music is perfectly timed with each explosion, and the kid in me who played with AT-ATs in 1985 and is still mad her parents sold the vintage Millennium Falcon at a garage sale about 3 years before the prequel trilogy was announced (not that we’re bitter or anything) absolutely loves seeing LEGOs go boom.

With all the wonderful news coverage of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the last few weeks, it’s fun to see some people on the internet bypassing serious think pieces and just having some fun with the universe so many of us know and love. At the moment, Glorious Eye Candy has four videos up, and all of them are TFA related. Maybe the fun and popularity of this one will drive them to make more exciting projects for us to see. I’m hoping for a Death Star scene or maybe the Battle of Endor to really satisfy my Star Wars LEGO needs. Tell me what you think in the comments below!
