STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS 3D Blu-Ray Extras Revealed

If you thought that Lucasfilm might have been holding out on us in the first Blu-ray release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, then you were absolutely right. But we’re not gonna have to wait long to get our hands on the next version of the film. Because according to StarWars.com, Lucasfilm has revealed the details and bonus features of Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition, which is going to be a 4-disc set that includes the theatrical cut on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, Digital HD, and DVD, and a slew of extras—both previously released and new.

The biggest additions to this set are the new audio commentary by director J.J. Abrams and the new deleted scenes that didn’t make it into the first Blu-ray release. Lucasfilm hasn’t specified which deleted scenes are included in this set, but Abrams has previously described a sequence in which Maz Kanata showed off her Force powers while fighting First Order storm troopers. And we seem to recall a lost moment between Maz and General Leia in the trailers that didn’t make it into the final film, either.

Here’s the rest of the new bonus features:

  • Foley: A Sonic Tale – Foley artists, consisting of old pros and new talent, unite to bring the world of Star Wars: The Force Awakens alive through the matching of sound to action.
  • Sounds of the Resistance – Hear how the epic sound design of Star Wars: The Force Awakens moves the Star Wars legacy forward.
  • Dressing the Galaxy – Costume designer Michael Kaplan reveals how the costumes of the original Star Wars movies were re-envisioned for a new generation.
  • The Scavenger and the Stormtrooper: A Conversation with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega – The two new stars share the thrill of working together on the adventure of a lifetime and becoming part of the Star Wars legacy.
  • Inside the Armory – Take a fascinating tour through the design and creation of the weaponry in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
