STAR WARS: FROM A CERTAIN POINT OF VIEW Audiobook Clip Features Jon Hamm as Boba Fett!

Update – 10/2/17: From a Certain Point of View will be available on October 3, and as we previously reported, Jon Hamm is narrating the Boba Fett short story by Paul Dini. USA Today shared an audio clip from the story, which you can listen to above.

Update – 9/15/17: When we first heard tell of the forthcoming Star Wars anthology book From a Certain Point of View, we were over the moon. (Wait a minute–that’s no moon!) When we later found out that the likes of some of our favorite Star Wars authors would be handling the material, we felt higher than a wampa rat over Beggar’s Canyon. And when this past Thursday couriered the news of which A New Hope side characters the stories would be following, we felt like we’d just hit the million-credit jackpot in Cloud City. But the real cherry on top of the ruby bliel is the terrific cast of actors who’ll be lending their voices to these new recordings.

The most exciting bit of casting is no doubt the pairing of actor Jon Hamm and the fan favorite character Boba Fett, who’ll serve as the focus of Paul Dini’s story “Added Muscle.” Another big star lending his talents to the project is Neil Patrick Harris, who’ll be narrating a yet unconfirmed tale about a Death Star Imperial officer. The rest of the cast includes Star Wars: Rebels and The Clone Wars‘ Ashley Eckstein, Jonathan Davis (who has lent his voice to a number of video games, including Star Wars: The Old Republic), Pokémon voice actors Saskia Maarleveld and Marc Thompson, Arrow and Sleepy Hollow‘s Janina Gavankar, soap opera star January LaVoy, and acting newcomers Carol Monda and Daniel José Older.

9/14/17: One of the many fans favorite aspects of Star Wars is the vast number of aliens, background characters, and creatures that populate the galaxy far, far away. We all just want to learn more about the characters that fill in the frames and flesh out the universe but never get much dedicated screen time. Thankfully, we’re getting exactly that with Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View, a new anthology that tells multiple stories, each written by a different author, from the various perspectives of background characters in A New Hope. With the book due out in October, Del Ray Publishing took to Twitter to reveal several of the 40 stories written for the book with the #FromACertainPOV hashtag.

If you’re looking to learn more about the anti-droid bartender in the cantina Chuck Wendig has you covered with “We Don’t Serve Their Kind Here.”

Gary Whitta’s “Raymus” promises to further close the gap between Rogue One and A New Hope.

Or perhaps you would like to check in on Lando and the Millennium Falcon courtesy of Charles Soule’s “The Angle.” Hopefully this story reveals more about how the ship left Lando’s possession and ended up being piloted by Han Solo.

Greg Rucka’s “Grounded” will focus on the effects the Empire’s destructive path has on a single person.

Kieron Gillen’s “The Trigger” promises to delve deeper into some of Doctor Aphra’s history.  If you’re not already an Aphra fan check out Gillen’s ongoing comic book series about the character to learn more about her mysterious history.

Batman The Animated Series and Harley Quinn co-creator Paul Dini spins a Boba Fett yarn in “Added Muscle.” Who among us doesn’t love a good Fett story?

Pablo Hidalgo is a walking Star Wars encyclopedia, so his take on Tarkin should be insightful and littered with easter egg references.

The New York Times bestselling author promises to teach us more than we probably ever needed to know about Leia’s adopted mom!

There are a TON more reveals on Twitter, too, including Christie Golden’s story about the stormtrooper who ratted out Leia, Alexander Free’s Mon Mothma story, and one that’s just about the life of a sickly droid! These ideas are all absolutely incredible and original which is exactly what a 40-year-old franchise needs to stay vibrant and fresh for generations to come. You can and should pre-order Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View on Amazon now.

And if all of the above hasn’t convinced you perhaps this unbelievable collection of talented authors who contributed stories to the book will:
