STAR WARS REBELS Teases NYCC with New Trailer & Clip

Star Wars Rebels hit New York Comic Con with all the force of a ship entering hyperdrive. Above you can see the con exclusive trailer for season 2, which premieres this Wednesday, October 14 on Disney XD. Executive Producer Dave Filoni, Ashley Eckstein, Taylor Gray, and Sarah Michelle Geller were all in New York to answer questions and premiere both the trailer and the clip we have for you below.

Geller’s enthusiasm on her new role as the Seventh Sister was clear in Thursday’s press conference. Asked about what she likes about playing this new Inquisitor, she answered, “It’s always fun to play the characters you least expect. What I really love, as I said about her earlier, she’s such an intelligent…she’s such a thinking bad guy, a thinking villain. And everybody wants to be the villain, I mean come on!”

Between her excitement over joining the Star Wars universe (says it gives her major street cred with her kids), and this introductory clip that was also shared at New York Comic Con, I think we can safely say that the Seventh Sister is going to provide a whole lot of drama and excitement this season.

The stars and producer clearly love Star Wars just as much as everyone in the audiences at the convention. Filoni was asked by a reporter about the freedom that he has working within the expanded universe of Star Wars, to which he spoke eloquently about being part of the passionate group of people who create these stories and movies. In the most simple terms, he said, “It’s an effort by a group of people who loves Star Wars to make something great.”

This trailer and clip are the perfect vehicles to get you excited for the new season. Tell us what you look forward to seeing the most in the comments below. Personally? I’m excited to hear more of James Earl Jones back in the recording booth as Darth Vader. He’s the original after all.
