It’s March, and it’s time for Madness. No, not the NCAA basketball tournament, although that is, indeed, March Madness. And, no, not the Muse song, or the iconic British ska-pop band. This is REAL madness, and, like the basketball version, it involves brackets. But for Nerdist readers, it’s right in your wheelhouse.
We’re talking about StarWars.com’s “This Is Madness: The Star Wars Character Tournament,” and it’s exactly that: Characters from the saga are pitted against each other, and you — yes, YOU — vote to help decide who, once and for all, is the most popular Star Wars character of all. The brackets pit good guys vs, good guys and bad guys vs. bad guys until the finals pit The Light Side vs. The Dark Side. So, first, you gotta pick between R2-D2 and C-3PO, Leia vs. Padme Amidala, and so on, all the way until the final battle.
Voting begins March 18th. The final winner will be announced April 9th. Go here on Monday the 18th to get started. Who ya got?
Was that Matt Sloan doing the voice of Vader? It sounded like him, especially when he quieted down. Sounded a lot like Chad.
I’m thinking this is an attempt by Disney to prove that more people like the original trilogy era, in order to seal the fate of the remaining unaired episodes of The Clone Wars (not to mention games like 1313).
So for the sake of those of us who did enjoy The Clone Wars, please, people, just throw your votes away on prequel characters.
