New STAR WARS Set Photos Give Us a First Look at EPISODE IX!

Warning: There are potential spoilers ahead for Star Wars: Episode IX!

Star Wars: Episode IX may be over a year away, but the first details are finally starting to emerge from the set. The Sun has debuted a few unauthorized pics that offer an intriguing glimpse of an outdoor scene with three of the returning players. Today’s Nerdist News is going back to a galaxy far, far away to examine the pertinent details.

Join host and the last gambler on Canto Bight, Jessica Chobot, as she revisits our favorite bro-mance of the new trilogy: Finn and Poe! Both Oscar Isaac and John Boyega are sporting noticeably longer hair, which seems to confirm the longstanding rumors about a time jump for Episode IX. It also appears that the Millennium Falcon is being built near Pinewood Studios for this sequence.

Now, where will this scene be set? Early speculation has it on Yavin, Takodana, and even the forest moon of Endor. Another key aspect of these photos are the horses covered in grey furry costumes. We don’t think these creatures are the Fathiers from The Last Jedi, but it appears that the horse heads will be swapped out via CGI.

Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo was also spotted in the new pics. However, Daisy Ridley’s Rey was noticeably absent. Considering that the Falcon had been seemingly given to Rey upon Han Solo’s death, her absence raises more questions if she isn’t traveling with Chewie, Poe, and Finn.

What do you think about the early look at Episode IX? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
