STAR WARS Deaths Brought to Life in 8-Bit Animation

What’s the best way to find some enjoyment in the many sad and often gruesome deaths of the Star Wars universe? Apparently you just render them in 8-bit and give them equally awesome 8-bit music.

8-Bit-Vader

This great video was a team effort: directed and edited by Filipe Costa, animated by Matheus Muniz, with music and sound from Paulo Bohrer II. Like any good Star Wars fans, they gave it its own scroll too.

Deaths

THE POWER THAT DESTROYS LIFE

Through the years, many have faced this wicked destiny. Mighty heroes have been betrayed, powerful foes have been defeated… and a few accidents happened. For those who faced death, all has ended. But their memories live on, in another galaxy…

Oh, and just in case you still haven’t seen The Force Awakens, be warned: this video contains spoilers.

So what made the cut?

  • Darth Maul killing Qui-Gon
  • Anakin’s mother Shmi dying in his arms
  • Mace Windu beheading Jango Fett (with a very cool look from Jango’s point of view mixed in)
  • Anakin scissoring Count Dooku’s shocked noggin
  • Mace Windu losing his hand to the traitor Anakin Skywalker and his life to Palpatine’s Force lighting
  • Obi-Wan sacrificing himself to Darth Vader
  • Boba Fett falling into the sarlacc pit (Where he died people!)
  • Vader saving Luke and killing the Emperor
  • Vader dying in Luke’s arms
  • Kylo Ren thanking Han Solo for helping him

I have to say, the only one that I feel they really missed was having 8-bit Princess Leia choking 8-bit Jabba.

What death did they leave out that you would have liked to have seen included? Let us know in the comments below.
