STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT May Have Han Solo, Emperor Palpatine, and Heroes Hunt Mode

Star Wars Battlefront is heading into open beta today (Thursday), meaning many of you will be embracing the powers of the Force and/or the Darkside this weekend. Fair warning: once you get a taste of power, you’ll be hard-pressed to kick future cravings. Look what the Darkside is doing to me:

Yeah… being a Sith makes my man stick dance. Anyway, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are the only hero/villain characters announced thus far, but a little digging into the PC code of the Battlefront beta may shed light on more Star Wars fan favorites we can expect to tear s*** up with on the battlefield. Reddit user TheeUberMedic found tracings of Han Solo, Boba Fett, Princess Leia, and Emperor Palpatine within the “characters.sb” folder, which is accessible after digging through the beta’s data files.

Another reddit user by the name of radgamerdan discovered a file labeled “/data/challenges/forest_chapter_25_herobattle” which alludes to a mode called Hero Hunt. My guess is that this Hero Hunt mode will pit a large team of soldiers against a small team of heroes, assigning the tough task of taking the heroes out to the soldiers. My hope, however, is that this mode will instead be reminiscent of the Jedi/Sith matches that you could play in Battlefront 2, allowing players to pick only hero or villain characters and wage war against one another.

Do you feel the Heroes/Villains revealed within the beta code are solid choices? What characters from the Star Wars franchise that aren’t Jar Jar Binks, do you want to see in the game? Blast your thoughts into the comments below.
