STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION Recast As Cats is Purrfect (EXCLUSIVE)

Just as they did with the original series, sooner or later, Hollywood was always going to recast the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation for an inevitable movie reboot. You know it’s coming, whether you want it or not. It was hard enough finding new actors to fill the shoes of Kirk and Spock, now imagine finding actors to fill the tight red tunics of Patrick Stewart and Michael Dorn. I know, it’s an impossible task. So what if we just recast Star Trek: The Next Generation with cats instead. Who’s going to complain about that on the internet?

And because we care, we’ve got an exclusive look at the feline federation.

For an idea of what the crew of the Enterprise -D looks like commanded by a crew of precious kitty cats in the inevitable reboot, we suggest you go out and buy Star Trek: The Next Generation Cats from publisher Chronicle Books. The follow up to last year’s Star Trek Cats once again features the art of Jenny Parks, who has replaced Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Worf, Data and the rest of the crew with adorable kitties. And yes, Wesley Crusher is included as well… as a kitten of course.

This new book recreates fan favorite scenes from the series, including Data and Geordi playing Sherlock Holmes on the holodeck, Worf in full Klingon battle mode with his bat’leth in hand mouth, and in a Nerdist exclusive, Captain Jean-Luc Picard as Locutus of Borg. You can check out these images down below in our gallery, and you can order the 64-page hardcover book for your favorite cat lover/Trekker in your life for $14.95 here.

Against this kind of cuteness? Resistance is futile.

Are you as powerless before the adorableness of these TNG kitties as we are? And would you like to see Jenny Parks kitty up the crews of Deep Space Nine, Voyager and the rest next? Be sure to let us know down below in the comments.

More from the final frontier!
