See What’s in Store for STAR TREK: DISCOVERY with New Teaser and Preview Images

After months of anticipation from fans all over the world, Star Trek: Discovery has finally premiered, and its pilot episode surprised both hardcore Trek fans and casual audiences alike.

(Spoilers for the first episode continued throughout here folks – fair warning!)

So it turned out that the first episodes of Discovery didn’t even have a brief scene featuring the titular ship!  It was maybe the most daring and ballsy Star Trek pilot ever in terms of execution. Almost every Trek pilot in the past has had a regular formula, introducing the audience to the ship and its crew in pretty standard ways. By giving us an extended intro to Sonequa Martin-Green’s character of Lt. Michael Burnham and her tortured past, Discovery totally up-ended fifty years of tradition.

Now CBS All Access have released a trailer for episode 2 of the series, “Battle at the Binary Stars,” as well as the remainder of season one of Discovery. You can watch the extended trailer down below, as well as a gallery of preview images for episode two.

So what did we glean from this new trailer about what the show has in store for us? For starters,  we get our first glimpse of the Discovery’s Captain Gabriel Lorca, played by actor Jason Isaacs, as well as Rainn Wilson, who will play the part of space pirate Harry Mudd, one of the recurring antagonists from the original Star Trek series. And we saw a whole lot more Klingon warships, of a design that we’ve never seen before in Star Trek history. It seem one thing is for sure – Discovery is not going to be what anyone expected.

Are you excited for the rest of season one of Star Trek: Discovery? Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the show down below in the comments.

And Here’s Even More Star Trek For Ya:
